Biography

Paulus POTTERS composer, jazzpianist, singer-songwriter, started at the age of 7 years with recorder and switched as a teenager on grammar school to piano.

After for a while studying musicology at the University of Utrecht and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tilburg, he graduated at the Rotterdam conservatory in piano and arranging in 1986. In 1991 he wan several awards for his compositions at the "BILLBOARD SONG CONTEST" in Oklahoma U.S.A. The members of the jury were Julio Iglesias, Jose Feliciano and Frank Zappa. Next to his trio he also occasionally performs with his popjazz/fusion group the Paulus Potters Band.

As a composer Paulus is very diverse and writes not only jazz but also pop and classical compositions. His choir piece "St. Augustinus suite" was performed in Russia by a prestigious Dutch chamber choir. It was also used for the dutch historical movie "Recht van wind". Paulus cooperated with an international choregrapher and wrote the ballet music "Lost in the city". His music was also taken for a TV series documentary and that series went all over the world.

Paulus is sharing his time between Holland and France where he participates also in jazzfestivals like "Jazz Ă  Domergue" in Cannes. You can listen and download his CD's on iTunes store.
